I cry in just about every movie I watch but what surprised me was the amount of time I spent absolutely sobbing, not just getting teary eyed. I’m not going to lie, I cried through probably half of the movie. There are many parts with little to no dialogue but the brilliant acting shows so much, the entire movie would be amazing without any dialogue. It does a very good job of showing three days in an hour and a half without showing all the unnecessary crap that happens on a day to day basis.
I want to say the plot’s a bit difficult to follow and the movie seems to move very quickly, but the series of events happen in a very short time span. It’s hard to explain without giving much away, but it follows their short relationship from one night stand to a bit more. The movie follows three days of a man named Russell’s life, where he meets a man named Glen at a gay bar and brings him home. It popped up on my dash and I was curious, so I looked it up and started watching. I decided to watch this totally spur of the moment. I won’t stop you from watching it, but I wouldn’t recommend it myself. People like Michael Cera (for some reason) and the movie has some cool graphics and a couple funny lines. Even the Jason Schwartzman parts weren’t even that good, which was probably the worst part.Īlthough I was not into this movie whatsoever, I can see where the appeal comes from. I lost interest in graphic novels about the time I hit high school, and considering this movie was based on and played out like the graphic novels themselves, I found myself ridiculously bored and displeased with the movie.
Sure, there are a couple funny bits and the idea’s cool, but I’m a girl with a very short attention span if I don’t like something. It wasn’t awful -I’ve definitely seen worse, especially while running this blog- but I essentially hated it. In case you haven’t noticed yet, I didn’t like this movie at all.
He said the funniest lines, had the best character development out of all of them and was basically the only thing that kept me from falling asleep. The reason it made the list on AfterElton is because Scott’s roommate Wallace is gay, and pretty much the only good part about the movie. If you haven’t heard of the movie, it’s about a guy named Scott who falls in love with Ramona, and to get her has to defeat her seven evil exes.
I saw it in 2011 with my obsessed boyfriend at the time: I was going through a Jason Schwartzman fangirl phase, and because he’s in the movie, my ex automatically assumed that I was going to love the film. I was scrolling through the “new” list on AfterElton today, and on the second page was Scott Pilgrim, a movie that most of my (male) friends still rave about to this day. #45 from the 2010 Favorite Gay Movies list: Scott Pilgrim vs.
